Of course it feels great to have your back rubbed, but the art and science of massage is much more than that. Massage is a health care modality that may be relatively new in the western world, but it has been part of the healing and wellness tradition of many eastern cultures for hundreds of years.

Even the names of common massage styles reflect that their heritage is not based in North America but in much older civilizations, such as Sweden, India, China, Thailand, Japan and Hawaii. Of course there are also more modern modes of bodywork that were developed more recently, based on the self-actualization movement with roots in California in the early 1960s.

"How many times have you set goals, only to see them remain incomplete...."

Stop whatever you are doing and write these words on a piece of paper that you can keep with you at all times. It is a quote from Napoleon Hill

"Dream big dreams; Only big dreams have the power to move men's souls."

By following a simple daily technique you can achieve everything you want in life.

What stops you from achieving everything you want in life? Here are a couple of things for your consideration.

To say that Americans are obsessed with dieting is an understatement! Pick up any magazine, tune-in or turn-on any source of advertising and you’re bombarded with the latest diet schemes and food fads. More often than not, they are endorsed by some familiar Hollywood celebrity, or promoted using some other cleaver technique.

f you decided to stop smoking then you must do everything that is in your power to reach this goal. A very easy method that can help you a lot is to make a list with the benefits you’ll get from quitting. Then, every time you get an urge to smoke, take the list out of your pocket and remind yourself why you need to get rid of the habit.

The first huge benefit of quitting is the improvement in your health. You’ll notice it will be a lot easier to breathe, your lungs will feel cleaner and your heart will work better. You’ll also sleep better and have a considerable increase of energy.

So, you are on a plateau. Congratulations for making it to this level. You started out and made big strides. Pretty exciting going from peak to peak huh? That upward progress is very exhilarating, especially when improvement comes so fast. It gets you to thinking you are going to have this thing down and licked in no time flat. Yeah, how about that! Then, your constant rise peters put and the ascent turns flat. Well what do you know about that!

What is music? All sounds are comprised of sound waves. What distinguishes music from other sound waves is the manner in which the sound waves vibrate and decrease from loud to soft. Dropping a metal pan on the floor presents jarring, erratic vibrations. Striking a note on a piano chord presents a softer more uniform and smooth transition from loud to soft. Obviously, a musical note is going to be much more pleasant to the ear.

There’s an old adage about how “music sooths the savage beast.” Not only is this true, it is actually an understatement. Music plays such a profound part of our lives, that we will barely scratch the surface here, but let’s give it an overview.

Picture perfect posture is something we all strive for, but it doesn’t exist. The reality today is that most people’s posture falls far short of the ideal. Poor posture is not only unflattering - it’s a little known health risk.
Myths About Skin Cancer - Are You Really Safe?

Sara spends much of her summer near the beach. She lives in a mild climate and is very athletic. She loves to swim, bike and play games outdoors. Sara knows the dangers of the sun and so she opts for tanning salons to get her 'golden glow' while being sure to apply sunscreen every day before heading out.

Joseph lives in a cooler, northern climate. The summers can be very humid, but most of the year is mild or even below freezing during the harshest winter months. The beach has never been much of a draw for him and he spends most of his time doing indoor activities or at his job. Joseph doesn't worry about sunscreen and only had one sunburn that he can remember and that was when he was a child.
